U.S. Department of Energy Reports 4.2% Clean Energy Job Growth in 2023
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) recently published its 2024 U.S. Energy and Employment Report (USEER), revealing an increase of 142,000 clean energy jobs in 2023. This increase accounts for over half of the new jobs in the energy sector, reflecting an impressive growth rate of 4.2%—more than double that of the broader energy sector and the overall U.S. economy.
While all 50 states demonstrated significant growth, Idaho, Texas, and New Mexico led clean energy job growth. With government investments funding the construction of critical infrastructure and supply chain facilities, the nation is witnessing unprecedented growth in this sector.
